I am a psychotherapist and counsellor working in private practice since 1995, as well as facilitating programmes within community organisations.
My training is in Psychosynthesis which is a psycho-spiritual psychology. Psychosynthesis was developed by Roberto Assagiolo who was a contemporary of Freud and Jung. It is holistic in that it acknowledges body, feelings, mind and soul in its theoretical framework. Within this modality the heights and depths of what it means to be human can be explored (purpose meaning and value) as well as every day concerns such as relationship issues, grief and anxiety.
I have considerable experience working with issues such as grief, depression, anxiety, relationships, self esteem, lack of meaning, food and body image and trauma recovery. In particular I enjoy assisting clients to navigate their life’s challenges as a way of bringing more fulfillment and meaning into their lives.
I abide by the ethics of the New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists and am ACC registered for sexual abuse work.
